I’m on my way!

18 June 2010

Just wanted to post a little blip to tell you I’ve made it to Salt Lake City! I’m spending the night with the Liston family, and Lord willing Tara and I will leave the house at 4:30 in the morning for the airport! Please pray for the Lord to perfectly guide each aspect of our trip over the next couple of days and give us opportunities to witness for Him as we travel.

New Prayer Letter

11 June 2010

Dear Praying Friends, 10 June 2010

At last I have a chance to write this long-overdue prayer letter, and I’m so excited to announce to anyone who may not have heard yet that my visa has arrived and I will be leaving for PNG one week from today! Needless to say, I’m tremendously excited!! Praise the Lord with me—not only for the answer but for His perfect timing!

The month of May was full of gardening, picking strawberries, and lots of study and visiting. One particular joy was playing piano duets with Grandpa Ellinghausen, who hasn’t played for 30 years but has recently started again, especially resurrecting an old family favorite, the Poet and Peasant Overture by Fr. von Suppé. I traveled down to NC on May 30th to visit Aunt Pam again and continued southward for the GFA conference at the Wilds that week. It was a tremendous blessing—even more meaningful since I’ll be on the field myself so soon! It was a special treat to spend time with PNG friends and especially to meet the Ritchard family, who spent several months in Kiari before a bad accident moved them into town on doctor’s orders for the remainder of their first term. Following the GFA conference I was able to spend a couple of days in Greenville, attending my home church, Mount Calvary, and visiting friends. Now I’m back at my parents’ in Virginia again, trying to pack, finish last-minute details, and fit in final visits and goodbyes as my departure date draws very quickly near!

Please pray that the Lord would continue to guide and have His way every step of my journey, and that I would walk very close to Him amidst all the bustle before I leave and then as I adjust to life in PNG.

For the sake of His name,

Elizabeth Ellinghausen
